Dzung and Linh are a couple from Northern Vietnam, but are now living full-time in Ben Tre, pouring their hearts for this region.

Dzung is the founder and leader of the zigzag team. Linh is the designer, and she's also managing Innerzen Homestay.

Innerzen Homestay is the departure point for guests on Mekong Zig Zag's sailboat trip.

An used to be the main tour guide of Mekong Zigzag, but now she became the operation manager, a very important role of the team.

Sometimes, she still joins the tour as a guide. Her guiding style is considered the most relaxing style in the team.

Chi is the Ba Danh homestay's owner’s younger sister. Ba Danh homestay is where guests will have lunch during the tour.

Chi is a caring tour guide. She can also speak perfect Japanese.

Chi is currently pregnant and taking a year off to care for her baby.

Nhân (or Pax) is a Ben Tre native.

He returned home after years in Ho Chi Minh city to embrace a simple life and share the peaceful spirit of the Mekong with travelers.

Vu is a knowledgeable tour guide in the Mekong Zigzag team.

He is fun, engaging, and passionate about sharing local life and cultures.

Trúc (or Tracy) is an expert Cooking class tour guide.

She has a deep love for cooking and creative ideas, and you can feel her bright, dedicated energy when joining a tour with her.

Mrs. Het

Mr. Hai is the main scooter “racer", also is the oldest Zigzager's member. He is the neighbor of Ba Danh homestay. Our guests ranked him the best scooter driver.

Mr. Tam used to be a gardener and fisherman. He is mastered at diving and catching prawns in the river.

Mr. Quyen and Mr. Tam are now the main “captains" for almost all the boat trips.

Mr. Quyen is also very skillful with his hands, he once worked as a wedding decorator, weaving coconut-leaf gates unique to this region.

Mrs. Het works part-time as a scooter driver and is also a mat-weaver.

On the tour, you may visit her home and see her family continue a mat-weaving tradition passed down for over 50 years.

And now, we live and work together like a family in Ben Tre, Mekong Delta.

I'm Dzung.

I care deeply about people. I find joy in seeing others in good spirits and having opportunities to grow.

With our guests, I try to create space for them to slow down and feel the calm, quiet generosity of the river that shapes life here.

With our team, I try to build an environment where everyone feels respected, supported, and free to develop in their own way.

Mekong ZigZag reflects the spirit of Southern Vietnam: intimate, local, and relaxed. These values guide how we treat one another and how we welcome guests, like the river that gently connects people and places without rush.

My role is simply to create the conditions where those qualities can shine.

Linh - The Designer

Hi guys, I’m Linh.

If you’re reading these files — yes, you’re seeing my design. I hope you like it. I’m the designer of Mekong Zig Zag, and I’m also living at and managing Innerzen Homestay together with Dzung.

I’m originally from Hanoi. I studied piano for all my childhood then quit and studied abroad in the Netherlands in tourism for one year, then came back to Vietnam, lived in Hoi An for a few months, and later moved to Ben Tre, where I’ve been living since 2022. Studying abroad and living in different parts of Vietnam helped opening my mind to many new things: lifestyles, cultures, people. Now, living in the Mekong delta has been so fun, interesting, easy and not easy at the same time for me. The cultures, people's accent here is very different from the North. It takes time for me to blend in here and to make friends with people surround me.

I designed Innerzen homestay — a Japanese-style home, and I’m happy to welcome guests from all over the world to come stay, enjoy the Mekong’s slow-paced lifestyle, or simply stop by to take a boat trip from here. In my free time, I love practicing the Guzheng - Chinese traditional instrument, so if you meet me at Innerzen, I might even play for you ^^ .

An - operation manager

Hi, it’s An again.

I used to be a tour guide, and now I’m the operator of Mekong Zigzag. It sounds like a “bigger” role, but in truth, it just comes with more worries, more thinking, and more sleepless nights 😀

Before, my job was quite simple. I led tours, met guests, told stories, laughed with them, and listened to them. It could be tiring, yes, but my heart felt light. I only needed to focus on one thing: making that day’s trip joyful and complete.

Now, I don’t go on every trip anymore. I stay behind the scenes more. I look at the bigger picture. And because of that, I see clearly the pressures I never noticed before. Some decisions seem very small, but I think about them for a long time. Because I know that even a small mistake can change a guest’s experience, or affect the mood of someone in the team.

There are days when I feel more strict, more quiet. Sometimes I don’t know how to say things in a way that is right for the work but doesn’t hurt anyone. But it’s in those moments that I learn to listen more, to trust people more, and to be patient – with others and with myself.

This role hasn’t only changed the way I work, but also the way I am. I used to keep my thoughts to myself, now I have to learn to speak up. I used to put emotions first, now I have to learn to put responsibility above emotions. It’s not easy, but I know it’s necessary.

Now, I don’t ask myself “Did I do well?” anymore. I ask instead: “Have I created good enough conditions for everyone to do their work well?”

I’m deeply grateful to Dũng. Not only because he gave me this role, but because of the way he trusts and guides me. Sometimes he doesn’t say much, but that trust is enough for me to keep moving forward, even when I’m scared.
I’m also thankful to Linh – the one who created a website with so much soul, so that guests can feel the spirit of Mekong Zigzag just by looking at it.

I’m grateful to our guides: Chi, Trúc, Nhân, Trí, Châu, Vũ. Thank you for working together, for keeping the rhythm so each trip flows smoothly and beautifully.

And I’m grateful to our drivers and boatmen – Uncle Tám, Uncle Hai, Quyển, Hết, and many others. They are rarely mentioned by name, but they are the ones who give guests the strongest sense of safety.

I remind myself every day: no matter what role I’m in, I must always keep the spirit of Mekong Zigzag – intimate, relaxed, respectful to people and to this land. To work with kindness, with love for the place I live in, and for the people I walk this journey with."

I’m Chi, a 30-year-old born and raised in the coconut paradise of Ben Tre, Vietnam.

Back in 2017, I went to Japan to study and work, but after 6 years, I found my way back home.

Now, I’m a tour guide of Mekong ZigZag, sharing my love for Vietnamese culture – especially the hidden gems of Ben Tre – with friends from near and far. I absolutely adore cooking and surprising my guests with spontaneous, unforgettable local experiences! For me, it’s not just a job; it’s a passion and a lot of fun!

Truc (Tracey) - Tour guide

My Story, Our Beginning

Hi, I'm Truc, you can call me Tracy.

Before joining Mekong Zigzag, I never imagined I would one day become a tour guide. My journey started with an unexpected love story in Bến Tre, where I met my husband, Manish. From navigating cultural differences to becoming a mother and stepping away from work, life led me through many changes.

After years at home, I challenged myself to return to the world — and that’s how I found Mekong Zigzag. It wasn’t easy at first, but thanks to the support of my team and the travelers I met, I slowly found my confidence again. Now, every tour is not just a job, but a way for me to share my love for this land — and to keep growing. [Read my full story ➝]

Nhan - Tour guide

I'm Nhân, but my close friends usually go by Pax. I'm a proud native of Bến Tre. I love British Shorthair cats, especially the bicolor chocolate ones.

I spent over 10 years studying and working in Ho Chi Minh City. Living in a big, busy, noisy and polluted city made me appreciate the peaceful life back in my hometown even more. So, I decided to leave the big city behind and return to my hometown in Bến Tre, surrounded by rivers, fruit gardens, and friendly neighbors.

I love the simple life here – tending to my small flower garden, caring for my lotus pot, roses, and orchids, feeding my fish, watching my cats play around the garden, and melting my heart every single time when they was curled up on my lap.

As George Moore once said "A man travels the world over in search for what he needs and returns home to find it", that's exactly how I feel, and it's what drove me to become an escort.

I want to share this slice of peace in Bến Tre, where coconut trees sway by the river with friends from all over the world.

Vu - Tour guide

Hi everyone, I'm Vu.

Two years ago, I arrived in Ben Tre with a simple plan: to become a coconut trader. But as life often goes, things didn't go as expected. That door closed, but another one opened—leading me into the world of travel guiding.

To be honest, I started this job purely to make a living. I thought being a guide was just about delivering facts and customer service. However, my entire perspective shifted the moment I joined the Mekong Zigzag family.

Here, I was lucky enough to be mentored by Mrs. An, our straightforward and incredibly supportive Operations Manager, and Mr. Dung, my boss, who has an amazing gift for seeing things from every angle — whether as a customer, an employee, or a leader. They don’t just design tours; they create an atmosphere where even a "rookie" like me feels empowered and inspired.

A huge thanks to Linh, Mr. Quyen, Mr. Nhan, Chu Hai, Chu Tam, Chi Het... and all my colleagues who treated me like family from day one.

Most importantly, thank you to every guest I've met. Every trip we share helps me grow a little more each day. Just like the spirit of Mekong Zigzag, I now let these journeys sweep me away and heal my soul. My only hope is that when you visit this place, you feel that same sense of peace and renewal.

Quyen - Boat captain & Scooter Driver

This is Mr. Quyển, our boat captain and driver. He was born in Trà Vinh, a province next to Bến Tre. Before working with us, he had many different jobs. He once worked in a factory in Japan. He can speak a little English, a little Japanese, a little Malaysian, and a little Indonesian. Later, he returned to Vietnam and worked as a wooden boat driver for his family, then moved on to piloting large steel barges on the Mekong River. Of course, he swims like a fish.

Quyển is also very skillful with his hands. He once worked as a wedding decorator, using coconut leaves to weave beautiful wedding gates that are very distinctive to this region. He is eager to learn, always wears a bright smile, and we have never seen him show signs of tiredness. He is always ready to help others. If you’re lucky enough to have him as your boat captain or driver, you’ll immediately feel his warm, positive energy.

Mrs. Het - scooter driver and Mat-weaver

Mrs. Hết is a naturally cheerful woman—when she smiles, it feels as though the whole world brightens with her. She works part-time as a scooter driver and is also a traditional mat weaver. During the tour, you may visit her home and meet her family, who have been carrying on a mat-weaving tradition passed down for more than 50 years.

She is a quintessential Mekong woman — open-hearted and remarkably capable. Mrs. Hết weaves sleeping mats, rides a motorbike, harvests coconuts, looks after her grandchildren, and cares for her elderly mother with equal dedication.

Deeply connected within the community, she has relatives everywhere and seems to know almost everyone in the area. Because of this, she plays a key role in helping us find trustworthy local drivers for the village.

Whenever there is a change in the tour — such as a guest canceling or no longer needing a driver—she is always the first to step back, willingly giving up her turn so others can benefit.

Despite the many demanding roles she carries, we have never once seen Mrs. Hết without her bright smile.
