How to travel from Ho Chi Minh city / Sai Gon to Sa Dec?

The best ways to travel from Ho Chi Minh city / Sai Gon to Sa Dec (and vice versa) are by public bus or private taxi, both are budget-friendly and convenient.

Public buses are very easy to catch, you can buy tickets directly at the bus station (only cash) or call them to reserve seats (You might need a Vietnamese friend to help you call since they can't speak foreign languages you know...).

Or, opt for a hands-off choice: catching a private taxi where you don't have to worry about pinning location cuz we are going to take care that for you.

Option 1: ​Public bus from Ho Chi Minh to Sa Dec

Ho Chi Minh / Sai Gon – Sa Dec bus info isn’t easy to find in English, even though the trip is direct.

Here’s a quick guide: Futa Bus (Phuong Trang) is the recommended operators on this route, offering air-conditioned buses.

It’s a budget-friendly way to travel the Mekong Delta, but note that tickets must be paid in cash (VND).

We understand you’d like to reserve a ticket for assurance, but it’s not necessary. Simply head to the ticket counter and purchase — there’s a 90% chance tickets will be available.
