Looking for where to stay in the Mekong Delta? With its vast landscapes and diverse experiences, choosing the best place to stay in the Mekong Delta can be challenging. Based on our personal experiences traveling throughout the region for both work and leisure, we’ll guide you through some of the top cities to stay in the Mekong Delta, including Ben Tre, Can Tho, Vinh Long, Chau Doc, and Sa Dec.
Where to Stay in Ben Tre
Ben Tre is a hidden gem for those wanting a more laid-back experience. While we usually stay at our own homestays, we recommend staying in Nhon Thanh or My Thanh An wards if you're looking for a homestay in the Mekong Delta. These areas are more authentic and peaceful compared to the more touristy regions by the river.
Some Authentic and good-serviced homestays in Ben Tre are:

Where to Stay in Can Tho
Can Tho is one of the most popular cities to stay in the Mekong Delta. There are two main areas to consider: the city center and Phong Dien district, known for its floating market. If you're looking for convenience, staying in the city center is ideal, with easy access to restaurants and the boat station for trips to the floating markets.
Vam Xang Rustic Home
Honest feeling about this homestay:
Well-designed, lots of garden spaces

Address: No. 02, Nhon Loc 1 Hamlet, Phong Dien Town, Can Tho City
For a more immersive experience, Phong Dien is perfect. It's a countryside area, so choosing a Mekong Delta homestay is the best way to soak up the local culture. This area is quieter and offers a unique look at rural life along the Mekong.
Homestays in Vinh Long
Instead of staying in the city, head to An Binh Island, which is known for its homestays. While it’s closer to a floating market, note that this market is much smaller and quieter, as many locals now rely on trucks instead of boats.
Some Authentic and good-serviced homestays in Vinh Long are:

Sa Dec and its Unique Charm
Sa Dec is a charming town with a mix of French colonial architecture and a beautiful flower village nearby. You can either stay at a local hotel or opt for a basic homestay in the flower village for a more unique experience.

Exploring Chau Doc
Close to the Cambodian border, Chau Doc is more remote. Hotels are the more common option here, but if you prefer a homestay, you can find some along the way to Cam Mountain, about 20 km from the town. Keep in mind that reaching these places can be challenging, often requiring a motorbike ride. Luckily, we found a newly opened homestay with only maximum 4 guests can stay in Chau Doc
Indocham traditional home by Da - Chau Doc city
Indochine-style homestay just 2 minutes from the iconic Jamuil Azhar Mosque in Châu Phong, An Giang.
Peaceful retreat near the traditional Cham weaving village.
Elegant design with warm, local hospitality.
Quiet surroundings and walkable village lifestyle.
Optional Halal meals available for guests.
Host overview: I truly love to make people happy:) I’m a Cham ethnic minority that grew up in Saigon. Every summer, I’d return to my grandmother’s house to study Cham culture. After graduating, I worked as a concierge for Park Hyatt hotels. No matter where I went in the world, I always missed the feeling I had as a child at my grandmothers house. This is why I came back and renovated her house so I can hopefully share that feeling with others.
