Overview: You need to catch Futa Bus in Ben Tre at 7am to get to Phu Quoc at around ~6:00 pm.
Step 1: Take a bus from Ben Tre to Rach Gia (6–8 hours) by Futa Bus
Futa Bus (Phuong Trang) is the an operator on this route, offering air-conditioned buses. It’s a budget-friendly way to travel the Mekong Delta, but note that tickets must be paid in cash (VND) or Vietnamese bank transfer.
The departure time of FUTA bus is very varied and flexible.
How to Buy a FUTA BUS ticket
Though it is not necessary to buy FUTA tickets beforehand, it is still more at ease if you can reserve the ticket in advance. Unfortunately, the FUTA app/ website does not work for this bus line. Therefore, you may need to ask your homestay staff to help by making a phone call to the FUTA Bus hotline and reserving the tickets for you.
Before going to FUTA bus, you need to find a taxi to travel from your homestay/ hotel to FUTA Ben Tre. Simply order transfer on Xanh SM app or Grab app, or ask for a scooter driver from your homestay (only if you travel light), they might offer that service.
Here is our recommended way for you: Once arrive FUTA Ben Tre bus station:
1. First, you need to buy tickets from FUTA Ben Tre at 7:00 am to FUTA Gas Station No. 19 in Tien Giang (1 hour).
2. Next, you buy tickets from FUTA Gas Station No. 19 in Tien Giang to Kien Giang Bus Station (5 hours).
3. Finally, you can take a free FUTA shuttle bus from Kien Giang Provincial Bus Station to the Rach Gia – Phu Quoc ferry harbor (20 minutes).

There are several ferry brands traveling from Rach Gia to Phu Quoc, the two most famous brands are Phu Quoc Express and Superdong. However, these two brands only have ferry trips latest 13:10 departure. Therefore, if you travel from Ben Tre by FUTA bus to the Rach Gia – Phu Quoc ferry terminal, the one more available ferry brand option is Thanh Thoi, with the last departure at 14:45.
